Agreeing to these terms
By installing or using soundParty you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use the app. You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country if that is higher, to use it.
What the app does
soundParty plays audio and video files stored on your phone, lets phones on one local network play the same thing in time with each other, plays YouTube videos in YouTube’s official player, and guides you through the multi-speaker options your phone and speakers support.
The app doesn’t itself send Bluetooth audio to more than one speaker; Android doesn’t permit apps to do so. Whether multi-speaker playback is available depends on your phone, its operating system and your speakers. Sync between phones depends on your devices and network and isn’t guaranteed to be exact.
Your music and what you share
You are responsible for the files you play. When you host a party, the track you play is streamed from your phone to your guests, and if you switch on “Save the music” guests can keep a copy. Only play and share content you own or have the right to share in that way. soundParty is made for private, personal use among people in the same place; it isn’t a licence to perform or distribute music publicly.
We don’t host, receive or review your files. They pass directly between the phones at your party.
Parties and chat
Parties are private and local: only people on your network with your code can join. If chat is switched on, keep it lawful and don’t use it to harass or threaten anyone. The host can switch chat off for everyone and can end the party at any time. Messages are not sent to us and we can’t moderate or recover them.
YouTube
YouTube features use YouTube API Services. By using them you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. soundParty doesn’t download YouTube content, play it in the background, or remove its ads, and you must not try to make it do so.
Ads and unlocks
The app is free and shows ads from Google AdMob. Some features unlock after you choose to watch a set number of rewarded ads. Unlocks have no cash value, aren’t transferable and are stored on your phone, so they are lost if you clear the app’s storage, uninstall the app or change phones. Ad availability depends on Google and on your region, and we can’t promise an ad will always be available. We may change which features are unlocked this way in future versions.
Our rights in the app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control. The app, its name, design and code belong to us or our licensors. Don’t copy, modify, reverse engineer or redistribute it except where the law gives you that right, don’t interfere with its ads or its unlock system, and don’t use it to break the law or anyone else’s rights.
No warranty
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with a particular phone or speaker, or fit for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under consumer law that can’t be excluded.
Please keep the volume sensible. Prolonged loud sound can damage hearing and annoy neighbours, and both are outside our control.
Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, or damage to devices or speakers arising from use of the app, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the app, which is nothing. This doesn’t limit liability that can’t legally be limited.
Ending use
You can stop at any time by uninstalling the app. We may withdraw or change the app, and may end your licence if you break these terms.
Law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of the country where the developer is established, without affecting any mandatory protections of the country where you live. We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
